    Question: How many rooms does the House have?

    Answer: The Mission Bay House has 11 guest rooms and also has a family room that can be converted into a sleeping space for a family if additional space is needed.

    Question: What amenities does the House feature?

    Answer: The Mission Bay House has a communal kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and family room.

    Question: How do you send mail to a patient staying at the House?

    Answer: Please send mail addressed as follows:

    Process for Staying at the House

    Question: What are the criteria for staying at Ronald McDonald House?

    Answer: There are four requirements to be eligible for a room at the House:

    Answer: New guests must be referred by a hospital Social Worker.

    Question: How much does it cost to stay at the House?

    Answer: There is no cost to families to stay at the House. While we request a suggested donation of $10 per night, it is not a mandatory fee or a requirement and all families who meet the criteria above are welcome to stay regardless of their ability to contribute.

    House Operations

    Question: What are the hours of the House?

    Answer: The House is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

    Question: Is free parking available at Ronald McDonald House?

    Answer: No, unfortunately the Mission Bay House is not able to offer free parking. There are, however, lower cost parking options in the near vicinity. Take a look at an interactive parking map here: http://sfpark.org/

    Question: How long can families stay at the House?

    Answer: Families are welcome to stay as long as is medically necessary. Families depart when discharged by their physician at their hospital.

    House Comforts

    Question: Are meals provided at the House?

    Answer: The House provides a continental breakfast and dinner every day. Storage cabinets are available for families to store additional snacks or food items if they wish. The House’s family meal program also recruits local businesses and volunteers to prepare a home-cooked meal for families several times per week and leftovers are available for families to reheat if they miss a meal.

    Question: What do I need to bring to the House?

    Answer: Families should bring clothing, toiletries, spending money, and anything else they would normally take for a stay at a hotel. Linens, towels, and bedding are provided.

    Question: What time can I check in?

    Answer: Families at the Mission Bay House may check in anytime with notice.

    Question: Are laundry facilities available?

    Answer: Yes, free laundry facilities are provided for families staying at the House. Laundry soap and baskets are provided in each room.

    Question: Does the House provide child care services?

    Answer: No, the House does not provide childcare or babysitting services.
